Meatball Pretzel Pocket

  • Ingredients

    • Ben's Soft Pretzels Baking Kit (follow dough preparation instructions that are on the back of the Baking Kit. Allow dough to rise)
    • Pre-Cooked Meatballs 
    • Provolone Cheese
    • Marinara
    • Garlic Powder
    • Oregano
    • 1/2 stick of butter, melted
    • Pizza cutter
    • Rolling pin
    • Non-stick cooking spray 
    • Bowl of warm water
    • Your favorite dipping sauce (Try Marinara, Cream Cheese, or Ranch!)
    • Baking pan (with parchment paper recommended)
  • Directions

    After preparing dough and baking soda water as per the instructions on the back of the Ben's Pretzels Baking Kit, let dough rise 25-30 min. 

    • Using the pizza cutters, cut a chunk of dough large enough to make your Pretzel Pocket from. 
    • Spray table with non-stick cooking spray and place your dough ball on top of sprayed area
    • Roll dough flat with rolling pin.
    • Add 2 slices of Provolone Cheese. 
    • Add approx 2 oz of Marinara on top of Provolone Cheese.
    • Add 5 meatballs cut in half on top of the Marinara and Provolone Cheese.
    • Add 1 Tsp of Garlic Powder on top of Meatballs.
    • Fold half of the rolled dough over top of the pocket ingredients. 
    • Cut the excess off and finish the fold to complete a wrapped pocket. 
    • Dip completed pocket into baking soda mixture (make baking soda mixture as per Baking Kit instructions.
    • Let the excess water drip off from the pocket.
    • Place pocket on baking pan seam side down.
    • Add vents by cutting 3 slits in the top of the pocket.
    • Sprinkle Oregano on top. 
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes in 500° oven. Rotate the baking pan 180 degrees every 2-3 minutes. 
    • Remove from oven and brush on melted butter.
    • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
